Role Overview

DTEX Systems is looking for a Datacenter and Cloud Site Reliability Engineer to keep all internal services running smoothly and securely and lead the ongoing improvement of the environments that support the corporate, development, and production teams. 
 

Role & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the management of the physical equipment in the datacenter 
  • Optimization of the technical environment and operations 
  • Maintaining adherence to security policies and standards 
  • Management of incidents, problems, changes, and associated processes. 
  • Fulfillment of developer requests for resources, monitoring, and automation 
  • Patch and vulnerability management 
  • Meet, monitor, and report on internal security controls according to policy 
  • Document environments and procedures 
  • Troubleshoot a wide variety of issues across services and levels of the stack 
  • Work outside of regular hours to complete maintenance when necessary 
 

Skills & Knowledge: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS / other highly technical discipline, or equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years in a similar role 
  • Datacenter hardware, software, and standardized best practices  
  • Strong on-premise and public cloud experience (AWS, XCPng/Xen Orchestra, VMWare) 
  • Strong understanding of SAN technology, including storage protocols & infrastructure
  • Expert in Python & Bash scripting (Powershell a plus) 
  • Linux and Windows administration
  • Saltstack experience preferred, Ansible / Terraform / Puppet ok
  • Centralized monitoring tooling, Zabbix preferred 
  • Strong networking and firewall knowledge 
  • Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills 
  • Ability to communicate and prioritize effectively 
  • Detail oriented with experience in tracking work in JIRA & Confluence
